Professor James Claxton
Professor Claxton is a highly respected dispute resolution academic and practitioner. He has nearly 15 years of experience in international dispute resolution as an arbitrator, mediator, and attorney. He regularly speaks on dispute management and trains commercial arbitrators and mediators. Apart from practice, James is Professor of Law at Rikkyo University and Assistant Professor of Law at Waseda University in Japan. His recent publications appear in the Asian Journal on Mediation, The Journal of World Trade, and the Pepperdine Dispute Resolution Law Journal. James began his career as an attorney with law firms in Paris and as legal counsel at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) of the World Bank in Washington.
