
Godwin Tan
Godwin is a dual-qualified lawyer (English solicitor and New York attorney) at Allen & Overy, London. His areas of practice include investment treaty arbitration, international commercial arbitration, business and human rights, and public international law. He has represented and/or advised States, companies and international organisations in multiple jurisdictions.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from University College London and a Master of Law (First Class in all subjects) from the University of Cambridge. He has delivered lectures and led seminars on arbitration at various universities, including the University of Cambridge, King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London, and the Singapore University of Social Sciences. He has also published peer-reviewed journal articles and a book chapter on developments in arbitration.
In addition to his role at the Beihai Asia International Arbitration Centre, he founded and is currently a committee member of Allen & Overy’s Society of East Asian Lawyers.
