
Dr. RMP Mohamad Idwan Ganie
Dr RMP Mohamad Idwan (‘Kiki’) Ganie was born in 1955 in Amsterdam and raised in Germany, also Indonesia. He is a Founding Partner of the Indonesian Law Firm Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo (LGS) and has been practising law for more than 40 years. Dr Ganie is a highly sought-after and respected lawyer as well as an arbitration expert in Indonesia. He holds a Ph.D. in law from the University of Hamburg and has completed further legal research studies at the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies in London (England); the Max Planck Institute for International Private Law in Hamburg (Germany) and in political studies at the Staatswissenschaftliche Fakultät of the University of Zürich (Switzerland). He specializes in commercial transactions/disputes and is admitted to the Indonesian Bar. Among others, he is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (FSIArb), President of the Indonesian Court of Arbitration for Sports and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. For the last 25 years, Dr Ganie has also been lecturing in Legal Writing and Legal Reasoning at the University of Indonesia. He is the author of the book “Corporate Acquisitions and Mergers in Indonesia”. Dr Ganie speaks English, Indonesian, German and Dutch.
